Dear colleagues!
The Union of Cinematographers of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and the Direction of the Festival invites you to participate in the 2nd International Festival of Arctic and Eurasian films "The Sunny Horse", Yakutsk, Russia, on November 3-7, 2006. The Festival is held with the aim to support and unite regional cinema studios and cinematographers; to develop the creative dialogue between representatives of Arctic and Eurasian cinematography.
The Festival is a competition, and winners will be awarded with the special award of cinematographers - "The Sunny Horse" in 7 nominations:
1. Grand-prix of the festival. Any film in any genre;
2. Best full-length feature film;
3. Best short feature film;
4. Best short documentary (including popular-scientific);
5. Best animated film;
6. Best cinema debut.
7. For contribution to cinematography.
Special Awards:
- Special "People's Choice" award;
- Special award for best actress;
- Special award for best actor;
- Special award of the Jury of the Festival.
Every selected and admitted film will get the Certificate of Participation.
There are the following sections in addition to the competitive program: "Debut", Special Screenings, Retrospective Cinema, and Master Class.
The Sunny Horse is a Yakut deity, which gives birth to all horses and also grants creativity to people. The award is made of the precious stone "charoit", representing the image of the Earth; with silver film-strip around the Earth; the deity horse is made of 565 sampled gold and a diamond shining in the horse's eye.
The entry form and copies of films in VHS cassette or DVD must be recieve by Direction of festival before October 10, 2006.
